dana_thI am a twenty-seven year old woman who has improved her physical condition while healing a broken foot. I have been training with Mike Barretta since the beginning of March 2006 and have gained better results than any other routine I have previously followed.

As an athlete in high school and college, I have always lifted weights to improve my performance and stamina on the track and on the field. However, all of these programs followed a traditional format requiring hours in the gym using heavy weights, high repetitions, and a lot of momentum. As an adult it became progressively difficult to devote a 2-3 hour workout to my increasingly busy day and I had trouble keeping the same body I had in college.

After breaking my left foot in mid-February, I was immediately stripped of my usually active lifestyle that included running, playing soccer, and being the instructor of Weights for Women’s kickboxing class. I was quickly watching my goal of getting a “summer-ready body” slip away. To my great fortune, Mike was confident that he would be able to train me even though I was still in a cast.

The training consists of a maximum of fifteen minutes per day. At first, Mike’s training concept was difficult to fathom. How could anyone achieve significant results by training for just fifteen minutes a day? After one session, it was obvious that the key to great fitness was the intensity of the workout as your muscles perform to exhaustion. Mike also reminds you to constantly focus on maintaining good form and breathing, which are crucial in gaining a firm physique. By the time my injured foot had healed, I was in better condition than I was a year ago doing cardio everyday. Plus, I was no longer aggravating my bad knee or pounding tired feet. The only downside from the effects of Mike’s training is that my wardrobe is now two sizes too big!
